Hi, Jane, My favorite thing to do in New York is to see a Broadway show or two--get tickets at HOTTIX, which is a little booth in the middle of Times Square that sells cheap tickets for same-day shows. If you've never been to New York, you really have to see Rockefellar Plaza (often good exhibitions outdoors) and Central Park (there's a nice outdoor restaurant near the boat pond).
