As for the fraudulent 900 number charges, my inclination would be to refuse to pay- if they continue to try to collect, report them to the authorities. On second thought, report them to the authorities anyway. My father got a $2.50 or so collect call from a PRISON- I not only refused to pay (I have power of attorney for him), I forwarded the bill to the sheriff who runs the county jail.
