Aside from attachments being prohibited on Lists: 1. A binary file such as a word-processing file can contain viruses which can infect your hard drive. 2. Unless the recipient of the file has the same program (in this case, WordPerfect), the file will be unreadable. There are conversion programs (which I have), but most people do not. 3. People who are receiving mail via Digest will get nothing, and the attachment may prevent them from getting the rest of the Digest. 4. Large attachments can flood the List and shut it down (Barbara Patterson has already written about that).
