Dear List-family...

(Doing Joan Rivers impersonation ----> CAN WE TALK?

I just had my usual Tri-annual checkup by my Kaiser (HMO)
neurologist. One of the things I mentioned to him was the
fact that it was annoying when I had to urinate whenever
there was a commercial on TV (about every 5 or 6 minutes,
but NOW I'm setting new records for frequency! <GROAN>

I've been bothered by frequent urination 24 hours a day for
about a year, and it's to the point that I may move my bed
into the bathroom so's I won't hafta run back and forth all
night <sigh>.

The neuro suggested I see a urologist (and I feel I should,
also), and offered me the opportunity of a referral to a
plain ol urologist or to a NEUROurologist. The former is located
close to my home and I can drive there. The latter is about an
hour away, and due to Parkie-eyes, I'd need to get a ride from
a friend or take a taxi (it'd be cheaper to fly to Hawaii than to
take a taxi tho). My co-payment is still $10 no matter which MD
I chose to see.

I feel since we ALREADY know I've had Parkinson's for
23 years, this is most likely due to the PD, and whatever
treatment, if any, will be with that in mind. Hence, I see no
reason to bother a friend to drive me all the way to the
neurourologist's office, UNLESS the urologist himself should
find some OTHER neurological reason for the frequency - THEN
I'd make a point of going to the neurourologist.

It's possible I'm over looking something here because my
preference is based upon my transportation rather than on
the physical problem, and that's why I'm asking YOU all for
your insight on this issue.

Can anyone of ya come up with reasons why I should go to the neurourologist
BEFORE being checked by the urologist?

Many thanks for your opinion(s)...
