Just barely made it to Friday's 30-min. meeting at 10 AM, with U.S.
Senator Susan Collins' aide, Sara Holmbom. Thank God there were 6 of us!
I had spent two hours with toes curling and in pain, unable to stand up,
and finally got out of the house with my new morning personal care
attendant, Keith, helping me.
Sara said she would ask Sen. Collins to support specifically-earmarked
and full funding ($100 million) in the upcoming votes in the Senate this
week.
I checked back by phone at the end of the afternoon. Sara sounded
detached, and had NOT yet called Washington to relay the message from
us.. This made me feel uneasy. Maybe I'm too impatient.
No news from Sen. Collins-no response yet. Sen. Susan Collins is at
(207)780-3575, and at [log in to unmask] for e-mail. I will post
any message from Senator Collins.
Collins has unfortunately not yet come out specifically for earmarked
funding.

P.S. Gerry's Pennsylvania faxes would help- Sara did not seem to know if
they had arrived.
