re: Wheelchair usage I was diagnosed in 1990......we rented a wheelchair to take with us to Japan and China in 1994.......wished we had had one in Europe in 1993. We realize how many places we don't go now if a chair is not available for use........We are shopping for a lightweight portable chair, or electric cart (and trying to decide the virtues/vices of both). Even though I don't need a chair in the home yet, my walking distance is so limited because of rigidity that I am just too uncomfortable to enjoy activities without virtue of chair. Don't give up and be discouraged.......there is an excellent book entitled "Waist high to the World" I think this is correct.....I have loaned my copy out....will have to see where it is and who the author is (a young woman with MS). It was published summer of 1997 I believe. Rita Weeks 54/9
