I have used this approach ; when Cecily has to go in a public place - mall or Wendy's or some such place, after she goes in I wait a reasonable time and if she doesn't appear I ask an employee to check on her. So far I haven't needed to go in to help, however we haven't gone out since her stroke - will tackle the problem when she feels like going out again.
