Ed.... I believe you MUST see a movement disorder SPECIALIST who's very familiar with the ins and outs of Parkinson's drugs. And do it SOONER, rather than later! Personally, your drug regimen sounds to ME (and I've had PD for 23 years) to be absolutely improperly structured in order for you to CONSISTENTLY get ANY benefits from the drugs you're taking. It's a VERY screwed up NON-schedule! It sounds like neither your neurologist (and a neurologist is NOT necessarily the same as a movement disorder specialist, tho a movement disorder specialist is almost always a neurologist), nor your GP know diddly about Parkinson's drugs!!!!! DO try to get a movement disorder specialist at LEAST once for a complete evaluation and the proper prescriptions, schedule, etc. USUALLY a university hospital has one or more PD-savvy neuros on staff, so that's a place to start. Good luck! Yesterday was my worst day. I had problems from noon on. I would run out of Sinemet CR befor my next pill. I called the Dr about 30 days ago and he raised the Sinemet CR 25/100 from 1 1/2 pills at 7:00am -12:00pm - 5:00pm to 2 pills 3 times a day same time. at 6:30am today I took 2 25/100 Sinemet CR and went back to bed. I was up late on this thing looking for answers at 6:30am I was fine. I was going to take 1 Sinemet CR at 8:30am. I forgot it. Started to get just a little stiff so I took 1 Sinemet CR at 9:15am plus1 Eldepryl 5mg I was told by Dr. to take Eldepryl 5mg at 7:00am and at 12 noon. At 11:30am I took 1 Sinemet and at 1:35pm I took a Sinemet CR Before I get next medication I start to get just a little stiff I walk with out cain or cruches but can tell feet don't want to start I do not shake hardley at all, Rite now my hands move on there own this does not happen aften. What do you think about going from 1 to 1 1/2 Sinemet CR every 2 hours and when should I take the Eldepryl, and what is it fore? Sinemet CR 25/100 is all I have. On the 17th of Sepember I went back to my neuro which is 60 miles 1 way. I told him about running out before my next pill and thought I should have some Sinemet 25/100 to help get me started and he gave me a prec. for Sinemet 25/100. He told me to take a Sinemet CR 25/100 and a Sinemet 25/100. 3 times a day which I did. The Pharmacy gave me CARBI/L-DOPA saying it is Generic for Sinemet. Now I am running out faster Yesterday I got up at 6:00am and took both, before noon I was realy getting stiff so I took a Sinemet and a Sinemet CR it helped but not much. My legs are all that freezes and if I sit down my legs ok they are stiff when I stand back up they freeze instently Yesterday I went to town I forgot to take medication this was about 2:00pm and by 7:00pm I new I better head for home if I was going to get there.I live 5 miles out of town I could feal myself going down hill fast. I was afraid if I went home I might take to much and overdose.if I did I might leave the house. I didn't know how much I could take I think it would depend on body weight I am 4'6" and weight 107 I also take Eldepryl 5mg twice a day dont know what is for or what it does Also NEURONTIN 100mg three times a day, Also VOLTAREN-XR 100mg once a day. My throat and mouth get so dry I can hardly talk I am late taking Sinemet. Just took 2 Sinemet 25/100 Hope it not to much. I realy do need some help. Oct.1st I see a new neuro.
