Mary, I don't know what your relative's specific needs require, but I'm wondering whether a computer software package (think it's called 3D Architect) may be useful. My husband is about to buy it and I think you can plan things on the computer and get things like a list of materials based on your construction. Anyone heard of this or think it may be helpful?
