I've been taking requip for 6 months or so and have found that it =
augments my Madopar (L dopa) therapy very satisfactorily (pergolide made =
me nauseous and gave me constipation). But I have only just noticed in =
the blurb that comes with it that, while on requip, alcohol should not =
be taken.=20
I usually drink a glass or two of wine with my evening meal (3 or 4 =
hours after my last requip dose for the day) and have not noticed any =
ill effects as a result. I would like to know the reason for this =
recommendation before I start a life of total abstention. I am not so =
concerned if alcohol lessens the effectiveness of requip or makes you =
sleepy etc as I go to bed shortly after my evening wine. If the =
combination has more sinister results though I might take the maker's =
injunction more seriously.
Does anyone know the answer or know where I can get the answer? Is there =
an email address for SBK's department dealing with this sort of query?
