Don, it's not YOU, you know that! The world is full of bad roofers, and insurance companies that don't want to pay you any more than they have to, but always want to charge for every little thing. There was a time long ago, when companies would try to hire the best people, and pay them enough to keep them happy, and treat them well, so they would stay on board for many years. Then, if you had a roof built or a bread box, it would be built to last, and the workers would be proud of their product. NOW we have factories and businesses run by "efficiency experts" (bean counters) using computers that search for any way to save even a small fraction of a cent. They try to hire workers who will work for the least amount of money, and they make sure to grade them on the quantity of their work, so if they make MORE products, with LESS quality, it is "good enough". After they get good at what they are doing, they try to get them to become managers, or let them get bored, so they will quit. Then they start with new minimum wage workers. If there are any complaints, they send jobs to countries where the workers will work for much less money, and under worse conditions. That is why "things don't work right" and don't last as long, and are not as safe, even though we have tools and machines that were never dreamed about years ago. The roof on my old house was 44 years old, and was still good, no leaks! The addition had a roof that was 18 years old, and it almost collapsed, and it did leak too! Tell Vivian she can now redecorate and have new paint and carpet and she should be glad. Maybe you should rest more, but you can make decisions for me any time! Keep pushing!
