At the time though, she did not know it was = Parkinson's disease. The first of the symptoms were she would suddenly = fall with out warning. I can remember one time in particular when I was = about fourteen years old. We were taking a walk and I was holding on to = my mother's arm. Suddenly, I felt her fall and I went down right along = with her. Afterwards, she felt terrible that I had fallen but I assured = her I was fine.=20 In October of 97 my mother was diagnosed with parkinsons. When she = first heard the news, a numbness came over her. Soon the numbness wore = off, and reality set in. She had a good cry which made her feel somewhat = better. Her tears were not the only one's shed. I remember the incident well. We were all in the kitchen and my = father took my mom in his arms and sobbed "I'm so sorry hones." "don't = worry John I'll be all right. " I know I just feel bad." It was then that I began crying for I felt powerless to do anything. = The disease was taking over and I wanted to fight it to somehow make it = disappear. I knew I couldn't;t and so I fell into despair. The type of Parkinson's my mother has, will someday confine her to = a wheelchair. She tells all her friends, "I won't let it take control of = me." I admire her for having such strength. Yes she has her bad times, = but now she is learning to accept it for what it is. I like her, have come to accept my blindness. Like my mother, I've had = days where I cry because of my predicament. She told me once that she admired me because I did not allow my = blindness to stand in my way. If I wanted to accomplish something = nothing would ever stop me. It is a drive that I'm sure was inherited = from her. My mother has been my friend throughout the years., and will = continue to be forever more.=20 =20 The teacher wrote. This is a most poignant story of two strong women.=20 =20 =20 ------=_NextPart_000_0206_01BDE7DB.E223E820 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META content=3Dtext/html;charset=3Diso-8859-1 = http-equiv=3DContent-Type><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD W3 = HTML//EN"> <META content=3D'"MSHTML 4.71.1712.3"' name=3DGENERATOR> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2><B>-----Original = Message-----</B><BR><B>From:=20 </B>Janice Morgan <<A=20 href=3D"mailto:[log in to unmask]">[log in to unmask]</A>><BR><B>To: = </B>Barry=20 Doyle <<A=20 href=3D"mailto:[log in to unmask]">[log in to unmask]</A>><BR><B>Date:= =20 </B>Thursday, September 24, 1998 4:52 PM<BR><B>Subject: </B>a paper = Sabrina=20 wrote for womens Literature<BR><BR></DIV></FONT> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2>Hi Barry and Eve, </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2> I am = sending a paper=20 Sabrina wrote she got 100% for it.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000=20 size=3D2> =20 </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000=20 size=3D2> &nbs= p;  = ; =20 Janice Morgan</FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#000000 size=3D2></FONT><FONT = size=3D2> =20 About four years ago my mother began having presymptoms of <FONT=20 color=3D#000000>Parkinson </FONT>disease.
