Hello All! Today I saw my neurologist & I thought that I'd share some of
the details with you. I went because my "on" periods had reduced from
about 8 productive hours a day down to 4 over the past three months. I
admit that my life is somewhat hectic (I think that full-tilt boogie
might be a more apt description!), but I have always been of the mind
that it's better to burn out than rust out (nod to Mr. Neil Young), &
with kids wanting & husband needing... Anyway, Dr. Lee decided to max
out my mirpax at 4.5 mg. a day (up from 4)& see if that helps before
switching that med. I have had good results with mirapex but have needed
more & it felt as if the mirapex were becoming less effective. I have
taken it for 1 & 1/2 yrs. Also, I inquired about collagen injections to
help with my "little voice"
problem & I have a number to call in Peoria! I'm quit excited about that
& also this: in Dec., a well-known movement disorder specialist will be
in Peoria to talk to a large group of neuros. He needed 3 histories of
unusual cases to look at for his presentation & Dr. Lee asked me to be
one. Will keep you posted on all of these developments.
I'm here Ivan, ready & willing but I need someone to give me direction.
So far I have been on TV here in Peoria twice after each of my
Pallidotomies. I tried to get your story run here, but they concentrate
on local people. In the meantime, I've been typing my fingers to the
bone: Oprah, Dateline, 60 Minutes, 20/20 and 48 Hours with nothing more
of a response than a thank you from Oprah's staff. Rosie O'DonnelL
doesn't seem quite right but she does champion allot of causes.
I'd rather eat dirt than go a round with Roseanne...maybe we could get
mad & do Jerry Springer! Time to take care of daughter with tonsillitis.
Don, I'll write soon, good buddy. IYQ allot!
