Bill Bell,

Regarding your question about pain relief for Neuropathy, I can suggest
that your support group friend discuss the possible use of a TENS unit
with his neuro. I don't know that it will relieve his symptoms, but can
relate that it does relieve pain from cramping and the sensation of
numbness associated with my bouts of dystonia.

I take Permax which relieves the dystonia most of the time, but stress
and fatigue reduces the effectiveness of the medication. The TENS unit
is a quick method for pain relief after a difficult day at the office.

I should also pass along that my neuro would not write a justifcation
letter so my insurance company would not pay for the unit. She told me
that a TENS unit was a lazy man's exercise.

If you find youself in this situation, the manufacturer will discount
the unit. It will still cost about $450.00

Although exercise is important, when the meds aren't working it is no
substitute for a TENS.
