Please forgive the "form letter", but this is the easiest way to pass along the news which follows below while things remain as busy as they are. Some of you may already know about what is below; but, for others, it's news! Ilene L. Dillon, L.C.S.W., my partner of the last several years, and I will be married on October 18, 1998. The service and reception will be held at an Italian villa in the little town where Ilene has lived (Marin County, California) for the last 28 years, and will be, weather permitting, outdoors in the middle of a redwood grove. After the wedding, Ilene and I are embarking on a rather "exotic" honeymoon, with our having been invited to present papers to a Rehabilitation Symposium in Beijing, China! I will be speaking on a new surgery for pain control and Ilene will be speaking on the psychology of disability. After two weeks in China, we will return via Hawaii, where we have rented a small cottage on the beach on Kauai, and we will return home on November 12. I may or may not have e-mail access in China. My colleague (who secured the invitation) has a MSN account which I might be able to use (I will travel with my laptop); but I will probably go "nomail" a day or two before the wedding. I should have access from Hawaii, but I might not be that "enthusiastic" by then :-) ! In any case, it's several weeks off yet, but I wanted to pass along the info now.
