Dear colleagues, Double transfer of a subject matter (narrative and drama, song & story etc.) is not uncommon. I'm looking for motifs transferred in +more+ ways, like the Netherlandish "Spel van den Sacramente van der Nyeuwervaert". This miracle play, concerning a eucharistic miracle (peasants finding a Host in swamps of Nieuwervaert in the province of Brabant) has been delivered in a paper codex from ca.1500-1540 (property of a Confraternity) that contains - history of the finding - the miracula - stories that happened afterwards in 1373-1437 - description of the transfer of the host from the small village church to the big town of Breda - miracles happened in Breda between 1449-1456 - description of pictures in the church concerning the miracle - the text of the drama (in verses, signed "Smeken fecit", most probably the well known author from Brussels, d.1517); it enacts most of the narrative miracula - prayers (in Latin and translated in the vernacular), poems, documents concernig chantries The above is shortly described in the edition of the play by Leendertz, "Middelnederlandsche Dramatische Poezie", 1907:xxxix-xl. There is a later edition by Asselbergs, of 1955. Dr Andrzej Dabrowka Uniwersytet Warszawski, Instytut Germanistyki Browarna 8, PL-00-311 Warszawa ___________________________
