Hi folks,

I am writing about the concise, highly interesting and
internationally-used Identification Formula we tend to use with our
signatures. I also have one brief QUESTION for everyone, which I have
placed at the end of this post.

As it now stands, we tend to identify ourselves with the following
formulas, but, there are variations.

    1. PWP's ( Persons with Parkinson's) tend to identify ourselves to
other readers of the List as follows:

"age in years / number of years since noticeable symptoms began"

I'm 48/12 by this method of identification. PWP Janet Paterson is
51/10, PWP Don McKinley is 74/30 (did I get that right, Don?), and so we
get an instant perspective on each other.

    2. CG's (Caregivers), I have noticed, seem to be adopting a
closely-related formula (Camilla, can you comment?). It goes like this:

"CG's name,"CG for", PWP's name, PWP's age in years / number of years
since symptoms began"

For example, Camilla Flintermann sometimes identifies herself with
(is this right, Camilla?):

Camilla Flintermann, CG for Peter 78/6.

HERE IS MY QUESTION for everyone on the List:

Should we add another bit of information to the Identification
Formula, namely, years since a physician definitively diagnosed PD? My
Identification Formula would then read, 48/12/9.
:This three-part formula shows that I am 48, had noticeable symptoms 12
years ago, but was only diagnosed by a physician 9 years ago. There was a
3-year lag between early symptoms and actual diagnosis of Parkinson's
Disease, for me.

Take a few moments and share your comments on the Identification
Formula that makes the most sense to you!

   Thanks to all,
   Ivan Suzman 48/12
