Ken, I think it's a combination of at least 2 factors, & kind of simple
actually:   1.)doctors, who may be truly competent in one difficult field
may feel that competence extends to other unrelated areas, when it really
doesn't  [they are cocky], and 2.) they tend to buy more complicated and
difficult aircraft to fly than other occupational groups, because they can
afford to.

I hope Dr. Fink is on his honeymoon by now - and not checking his mail !
