No thank you, Helen. I have softened my position to the point where I can see that some HMO's are OK for some people, which is quite a revelation for me! However, I wish I could afford to have totally unlimited access to every or any medical service my family or I will require, regardless of location or expense. I am limited by my PPO to a list of doctors, and not all services, and I have to pay some CO-payments. It is sufficient, but the fact that they are slow in paying and make many mistakes, makes it far from perfect. My sister belongs to an HMO that makes her wait for months sometimes to get clearance to see a specialist. She has had a chronic cough for months, and has not been able to seek help. They don't consider it as being too important. If she turns out to have a serious, or life threatening condition that should have been treated much sooner, I will be very angry. I am sure she will be too, even though she is normally easy going. Her HMO, is not one of the good ones, apparently. Ken B
