Nancy Nancy, I suppose that we could be using wrist weights or ankle weights for the physical therapy sessions that DAPS (Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society) provides at no charge for its members, We do use sandbags, held in place on our feet by rubber bands for leg exercises and held in our hands for arm exercises. We do this to increase the intensity of the exercise, as I understand it, not to reduce tremor. After exercising for an hour, using these sandbags for much of the time, I suspect the intensity of the exercise consisting of wearing these weights all day may prove excessive for me and most other Parkinsonians. Most likely your physician or a physical therapist should be consulted to take the facts of your illness into account.
