Hello all, The last week several lists have been posted about meds that are contra-indicated in combination with PD or PD-meds. All lists were different!! Rather confusing I think..... I have compared these 3 lists: A the APDA-list (the orange card). [re-posted by me] B the list of medications published in the June 1998 Newsletter of the NPF support group that meets at Georgetown University Hospital (In Washington DC). [re-posted by Hilary Blue] C the list on John Cottingham's site (updated 02/21/98). [re-posted by Ron Vetter] There were several names of meds (generic and/or brandnames) misspelled. Also were some meds mentioned on one list, but NOT on the other list(s). It seems important enough to investigate the differences. If you know of other lists like the ones mentioned, could you send them to me directly OFF-LIST, so I can compare them also. Can someone tell me if there is such a list on the ParkinsonAlliance-site, or on the PD-Drugdatabase, a national list from the NPF??? I plan to compare (all) relevant lists, and post the (final) results on this PD-list. Then it seems logical to gather ALL (if possible) meds that are contra-indicated, but are NOT on any of these lists yet. Finally this combined list plus the extra gathered meds plus the questions that no doubt will arise in the process, could be presented to a forum of experts, the APDA, the NPF, etc. for evaluation. The endresult of it all will hopefully be ONE UNIFIED LIST with all contra-indicated meds on it!!!!! Comments, ideas, etc. are welcome!! I'm now posting only the misspelled names and the differences between the 3 lists. If people that have access to the original lists would be so kind to check whether the misspelling is made in the posted list or in the original list. In that way we can correct/adjust the postings/lists. Please email your findings OFF-LIST to me!! Thank you!
