hi peter

it just occurred to me that
maybe the non-canajun branches of this cyber-family
aren't aware of all of the dimensions to the tulip symbol

i could be wrong about this
but what the heck

the parkinson tulip is a special variety
that was named for james parkinson, i think -
judith - you know these details, yes?

the tulip is used by many canadian pd groups
both as a two dimensional symbol
i.e. a logo on a poster or on letterheads or even on mugs for sale etc

and as a three dimensional symbol
i.e. tulip bulbs sold to the public every autumn
to raise both funds and pd awareness

which then develops into a four dimensional symbol
by being planted and blooming every spring thereafter

my opinion
in re the hourglass:
time is relative of course
pd doesn't have the urgency of a massive heart attack
pd has the slow grinding impact of a glacier

i fear the yearning
for instant this and instant that
which may attach to a symbol like the hourglass
reminds me of the glib news clips
re the amazing results of some pd surgeries

pd is not that simple
life is not that simple

the longing for the magical cure in the future
may rob us of the living we can do today

your cyber-sibling in symbolism
