Hans - there may be no cure from these cough medicines, but there is certainly symptomatic relief. When I am making a speech, or talking to a client, and my cough interferes with my ability to speak, a cough drop does the trick. This is important to me! I have still not heard from anybody as to what the problem is with taking MAO inhibitors (Eldepryl) with over-the-counter cough syrups: IS IT A LESSENING OF THE EFFECT OF THE ELDEPRYL OR IS IT A SERIOUS THREAT TO THE HEALTH OF THE PWP? My pharmacist didn't know the answer (although I think he should) and I don't see my neuro until November. So I am still interested inn hearing the opinions of anyone in the knowledgeable group.
