October 14, 1998 Johnny Cash treated in Nashville hospital NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Reuters) - Country star Johnny Cash is back in a Nashville hospital for treatment of Shy-Drager syndrome, a previously diagnosed illness that causes blackouts and tremors, a spokesman said Wednesday. Cash, 66, was readmitted to Baptist Hospital Monday after recently spending more than a week there recovering from pneumonia, a hospital spokesman said. He was listed in satisfactory condition. Cash was diagnosed last year with Shy-Drager, an illness similar to Parkinson's disease that attacks the nervous system and affects muscle control. Medications often have to be adjusted to counteract the effects of the incurable illness.<snip> http://dailynews.yahoo.com/headlines/en/story.html?s=v/nm/19981014/en/people-cash_1.html -- Judith Richards, London, Ontario, Canada <[log in to unmask]> ^^^ \ / \ | / Today’s Research \\ | // ...Tomorrow’s Cure \ | / \|/ ```````
