In watching Chicago Hope last nite, I definitely got the feeling that had I not known there was no cure for PD and it's related diseases, I'd have surmised that WOWIE... just have this surgery and presto-chango, you're WELL, if not cured. I also heard a radio broadcast today by Paul Harvey, who should research what he speaks about BEFORE he opens his big mouth and claims that this looks like "the cure" for lots of folks. His comment was something like, "Well, now there's this new brain surgery that's so darn simple that they don't even put the patient to sleep." (paraphrasing) YIKES!!! Other than that, as far as I know, L.A. TV and radio didn't pick up the topic of deep brain stim and run with it.
