"lucky old sun" is correct!. I think it may have been Johnny Ray who made it
popular. Some of the words are:

Up in the morning, out on my job
Work like the devil for my pay,
But that lucky old sun
Has nothing to do
But roam aroumd heaven all day.

Dear Lord above, don't you know I'm pining
Tears are in my eyes.
Send down that cloud with the silver lining
Lead me to Paradise.

Show me that river, carry me across,
(?) till I'm wrinkled and gray.
Like that lucky old sun,
I'll have nothing to do
But roam around heaven all day!

It may not be correct completely, but it puts in my head for a day or two!
Thanks, but no thanks!! Maybe some one else can fill in the blanks.
