I'm going to try and make this direct and to the point for all our =
sakes. Mom is going to the neurologist again Monday and I have some =
questions for ya'll. :) (And I'm from the west coast) :)
Mom's meds are as follows (approx.. times): 7 AM - Carbodopa/Levadopa =
(C/L) =3D one 25/250 11 AM - C/L 1/2 of 25/250 and 1/2 of 10/100 =
     3 PM - C/L 1/2 of 25/250 and 1/2 of 10/100 =20
Up until 2 weeks ago, she was also taking 25 mg. Seroquel 3X daily. It =
was originally prescribed to help with hallucinations when trying Tasmar =
(a terrible med. for Mom, by the way) but surprisingly acted as an =
excellent agonist. However, it has increasingly made her a lethargic =
robot and less able to think. So, I cut her down to 1/2 a pill 3X a day =
which was better but not good enough. Now, she's only taking 1/2 around =
4 pm IF she needs it for tremor (usually does). The rest of the day the =
tremor is controlled although she does usually need her Sinnemet about =
an hour earlier than above. Anymore Sinnemet and she into dyskenisia =
(sp?) (Mom and I call it the "willys"). =20
NOW for the question: We need suggestions for an agonist that will help =
keep her as alert as possible without causing hallucinations. I've been =
lurking long enough now to know we should cut down on Sinnemet when =
adding an agonist (that was never done before). I even talked to her =
doctor yesterday regarding cutting it back but she disagreed, saying it =
depends on what stage of the disease your in whether or not you cut it =
back. But I will anyway if she starts hallucinating like she always has =
before. She has not tried an agonist for about 5 years because of the =
side effects they caused before. Thank you for your considerations. =
You are all so knowledgeable and I just started CG Mom in March. I have =
a lot to learn yet.
