Dear List Members, NPF has been working with two very popular publications in an effort to create awareness of Parkinson's disease. Ironically, both pieces will run in November! 1. On Sunday, Nov. 1, Parade Magazine will feature a comprehensive article on PD which will list NPF as a source for further information. Parade has been working with NPF and it's Centers of Excellence on this article for several months. I have not been able to see the final version as that is against magazine regulations. However, from what I have provided them with and the questions the reporter has posed to our specialists, I suspect it will be great! This is a biggy. As you know, Parade is inserted into almost every Sunday newspaper around the country! 2. A 4 color PSA featuring Muhammad as NPF's spokesperson will appear in the November issue of GQ (Gentleman's Quarterly) Magazine. This piece does not go into great detail about PD. It focuses on Muhammad as the "Champion of PD Research and Spokesperson for NPF". It's goal is to inspire people to donate money towards research. The magazine is due to hit the stands on Oct. 31. In addition, Muhammad ALi will be recognized on VHI for being named "Athlete of the Century by GQ". During this segment, Whitney Houston speaks of Muhammad's fight with PD and also mentions his role as spokesperson for NPF. This will air the evening of Oct. 31 and continue to air during the month of Dec.
