Dear all, Just a quick note from Ilene and me (Ilene is my new bride) from Beijing, China, where we were invited to give talks to the International Symposium of Rehabilitation Medicine at the China Rehabilitation Research Center. The Center was founded 10 years ago by the son of Deng Xiao Peng, the former ruler of China, who sustained a spinal cord injury during the Cultural Revolution here. Ilene and I both gave talks to the group (about 150 medical people from Japan, China, Korea, Canada, and the USA), and we were honored by a banquet at the Great Hall of the People in Tien An Men Square. We have made some wonderful new friends and have eaten some pretty exotic meals (including snake the other night!). We have seen the various temples; and, day before yesterday, we climbed the Great Wall. I have many digital pictures! We will be leaving here on November 5 for a week in Hawaii on the way back and will return on November 13. I am still "nomail" on the Listserver lists so if any of you want to respond before November 15 or so, write privately. I hope all are doing well and had a good Halloween. All best, Bob Robert A.
