My Mother used to have severe leg cramps during severe tremor. We tried all
sorts of things like ice packs, hot packs, massage, walking, etc. The only
thing that helped is when she could stretch her legs hard enough to stop the
cramps.
She had to stretch them just right, by pushing her heel down at the same
time she pulled her toes up. When you do it right you feel a real stretch
all the way down the back of your whole leg. You try it first before you
try to explain it to your Mom. I would have to help my Mother by reminding
her each time she tried it and sometimes physically helping her by
manipulating her toes (ball of the foot, actually) and heel. If this is not
understandable, please let me know.
