I use those soft blue ice things myself besides slow, careful stretching of
the neck to each side and forward NOT BACKWARD.  After 20-30 minutes of the
ice I'm fixed till next time.  :)))  Also, luckily my daughter is a massage
therapist and that's the REAL answer.
