Judith asked about Canada and DBS. Approval of this kind of program is, I
believe, an individual hospital/provincial decision (primarily determined by
funding issues). I believe the first program of DBS was at Toronto (Bill
Harshaw was one of the most prominent patients). Here in Halifax, Dr. Ivar
Mendez who heads the neural transplation research program, is also doing DBS
at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. They have a web page:
