Friends, I spoke to Ivan last night, before his message to the list . I did not have access to a computer till now, but I will still try and deliver the message I promised. As was obvious in his own letter, Ivan is feeling a bit stronger, and more cheerful about his prospects. Fortunately, one of his friends was able to find someone to help Ivan out a couple of times a week overnight. And if we go on looking, maybe = hopefully someone else will find another caregiver. Ivan is very appreciative lf all the good wishes, and all the good ideas. Barbara Blake Krebs, your idea of the radio station was wonderful. However, Ivan is somewhat overwhelmed by the amount of reaching out he has had to do, and exhausted by the sheer volume, amount of phone calls he has had to make, so could you contact the portland station you mentioned on his behalf.? Friends, I appeal to you. Ivan has done so much for us, and for 'the cause' for us on the list, and for all thosemillions of pwps all over the world who will benefit by increased funding for research here in the States. We all have to thank Ivan as one of the most dynamic and successful of the advocates for the Udall Bill.
