You might tell dad something like "I'm not 'worrying,'I'm providing
useful information because I care about you."

What's he gonna say about THAT?  "Don't bother caring?"  Not likely!
<rueful smile>

Hang in there, m'friend.... and continue to participate in the PD
part of your dad's life, even if he advises you not to.  He may THINK
he's doing you a favor by having that "don't bother attitude," but
your instincts to be of use, to help, to inform, along with loving
dad are all very precious and important to his PHYSICAL health as
well as his emotional health.
