These do work but need care---
copied from my exercise book

C) These to be practiced before  needed

 -  a helper stands in front of the PWP --facing the PWP and holding both
hands

     at waist level. The frozen feet are well apart. The helper, keeping
watch for hazards,

     steps back firmly and evenly and the PWP will follow along as he
patterns on the helper

     After 4 -5 steps the helper

     -lets the hands go,

-    -turns his back on the PWP

    AND KEEPS ON GOING AT EXACTLY THE SAME SPEED.

The PWP  can follow as long as necessary.


 - If a PWP is very badly frozen the body weight can be shifted from side
to side

      until the feet lift off the ground and then the backwards routine
follows
