There was a thread some time ago on freezing and one of the suggestions by somebody was to drop something ( cane ?) on the floor ahead and this started some people even a piece of string sometimes worked. At that time Cecily was using a cane quite a bit and dropping the cane sometimes worked - it had a string attached to reclaim it. Our best solution for Cecily was to count 1 2 3 goooo - on the 3rd or 4th repetition it frequently worked - also lately this seems to work frequently " Now, let's move a foot - right! - right! etc" or, " Let's move a foot left - left etc" I keep trying one or the other until she moves. One peculiarity - her stroke just 3 months ago was on the right side with no apparent permanent damage and often when I use the move the foot chant the left foot moves first. By the way she has been on Requip for about 5 weeks, has anyone noticed tummy aches from the Requip? I expect to talk to the neuro today about going to something else. Present dosage - 7 AM 1 mg Requip 1 1/2 25/100 Sinemet 1 Eldepryl, 1-2 PM 1 mg requip, 1/2 sinemet, 1 Eldepryl ; 7 PM 1 sinemet. Any suggestions?? Ivan Keep in there plugging away - you are obviously not a quitter ( like my Cecily - it's unbelievable how good natured she is ) for people with your spirit there is always a solution somehow.
