Bill, as much as we might disagree we've got one thing in common- PD and
the desire to beat it. If you wish to debate these issues I promise to
keep that in mind and try to "fight fair". Our goals are the same.

Bill, Charlie, and List,
The following presumes to think someone cares about what I think.

Going into this, I need to explain that I am pro life. I have great contempt
and disdain for murders and other violence in the name of saving the unborn.
However, for normal circumstances and fetuses, I just don't see the potential
mom's absolute right to choose past the sex act. After that, I think the
state and society have certain rights.

Having said that, my points regarding the use of fetal tissue:

I do not believe that research drives abortions

If any pro-life legislator wants to outlaw second and third trimester
abortions, I can support that.

It makes sense to me that any abortion past the point at which the fetus has
functioning, differentiated neuronal tissue is killing a human being.

However, insisting that the tissue from any legally aborted fetuses be flushed
down a hospital drain or burned in an incinerator makes no sense.
Rather, it insures that life was indeed wasted.

We never got to the fetal tissue debate with the Udall effort, however several
of us were preparing for it.
