Hi Dominic,

I use Tasmar, with great success. My neurologist and I have me at 5 doses
/day. These are 1 x 25 mg, and 4 x 50 mg. This total of 225 mg/day of
Tasmar seems to work best for me.. A pill-cutter is used to slice 100 mg
tablets. Your post raised 4 QUESTIONS , which I am hoping you might be
able to answer for us, and any other interested Tasmar users.
Thanks for a valuable addition to my bulging Tasmar file. Hope my
questions are of wide usefulness to listmembers. They follow, interlaced
with short extracts from your longer post to the list. -IVAN

QUESTION 1: Dominic, who provided us with the Tasmar information you
kindly forwarded? Roche Co.?

 > Second, remember that dopamine is metabolized via two metabolic
pathways.
QUESTION 2: Are these pathways the tyrosine pathway in the substantia
nigra, and the "adrenal" pathway? Can any listmember explain, simply,
how these 2 pathways differ biochemically?

 > Inhibiting COM-T, in all probability, just results in an increase in
MAO-B activity
QUESTION 3 :Does this mean that Eldepryl and Tasmar do the same thing
in the brain? If each one is an MAO-B inhibitor, in the brain, is
Eldepryl unnecessary when taken with SInemet and Tasmar?

 > However, given the side effect issues that have surfaced over the past
several months, I would try to keep the dosage levels at the 100mg TID
level, and be very cautious about going higher.
  QUESTION 4: I use 225 mg/day. How did you arrive at this 100 mg/day
level? Is body weight important? My body weight is 73kg/160 lbs. I
wonder if one's individual weight, speed of digestion, or dose usage rate
are factors to be considered in estimating a maximum Tasmar dose/day?

Thanks again, Dominic,(and anyone else) for your comments on these 4
questions.
