Hello all: First of all, I tried so hard to stay up to watch Dateline, but I was sound asleep when it came on. Perhaps their website will have some info. As to the proposal that we divide ourselves into specialized "sub-groups"-I think that this idea would just further alienate us. I live in an area where I only know 5 PWP-one of them is my age. This list is our only shot at belonging to a group that truly can relate to our lives & how we must live. The list is a living, breathing, growing & constantly changing entity unto itself. I think that to divide up according to preferance of material would kill the list and destroy this magnificent oppertunity that we have to share all aspects of our disease with each other. Even the bickering is a healthy part of it-I don't wake up one day & decide that I want to hear only jokes, or that only serious, medical stuff will fit the bill or that I only want to hear personal chatter. I wake up early every morning & stumble into the computer to get the whole story from my pals that have lived it! Some of these pals may be a bit grumpy, some may have just suffered through a terrible ordeal, some may need to blow off steam & some are not even worth calling pals-but I believe, as I'm sure that Janet, Barb & many others do that we are family-of couse in every family you get some who are more sensative, some who are only looking out for themselves, some with specialized interests, but I want it all! Please keep the list intact! As for your quesstion about obsesive behavior after a Pallidotomy, I have heard of a Dr. initiating a astudy about just such a posssibility. I will try to find out more about this & will keep you informed. Thanks to everyone who is the heart & soul of "the list!" -- --- Joan Snyder (47/10/8) <[log in to unmask]> Peoria,IL "Do or do not.
