I joined the list recently to get information for my mother, who has Parkinson's and RLS (among other problems). My mom is easily overwhelmed by large amounts of email. She was subscribed to the list once before but couldn't handle the amount of mail, so now I just forward her the on-topic posts. However, I too am feeling pretty overwhelmed by the mail. Like Wendy, I may also sign off soon. I've been thinking about an alternative -- a separate list for off-topic matters and friendly chit-chat. I manage a number of lists and would gladly start up and run this list so that I could cut down on mail volume. Is anyone opposed to this idea? It was not the list mail that overwhelmed her. It was the sum total. I have sent her the information on genetic PD studies I have (which I got from the list). I asked her if I > could convey this information to the list. Do not think she was chased off the list by our jokes and song talk. She was not In fact she enjoyed those. She has a limited amount of time. Nita > > Wendy Lee wrote: > > > Dear Barb and others > > > > I'm afraid I have to un-subscribe to the Parkinson's list because I can't deal with the volume of mail! I will keep checking the websites for info about Parkinson's for my father, and would welcome any individual messages in future re the genetic aspect of PD. Thanks, and best wishes to you all. > > > > Wendy Lee > > > > "Sevenoaks" > > PO Box 212 > > Runaway Bay > > Jamaica, W.I. > > > > tel/fax (876) 973-4305 > > e-mail: [log in to unmask]
