Ivan Government funding for at-home care is critically inadequate. As my own life is clearly demonstrating, there is not enough money allocated for at-home care. This spells disaster for the single, younger PWP. It means preemptive institutionalization, isolation and depression. Even for a young married couple, the pressure on the caregiving spouse or partner is huge, and the loss of a normal social life for both PWP and CG looms constantly, due to the shortage of funds for care. Usually the caregiving partner goes through burnout and a series of agonizing decisions.
