Merlin... With all due respect, I believe that "watered down" publicity has got PD nothing, compared to the huge amounts of funding and research devoted to several other, more high profile, diseases. Just look at diabetes, which until the last few years was generally thought to have been "cured" due to insulin by the average man-on-the-street. The general public has not seen the worst side of that disease because it's always been so politely presented. HEY... diabetes is one nasty disease, with tons of major physical problems the diabetic must face all day, every day. By being politely presented, and watered down, the public tends to forget - IF they even knew -that diabetes is a world wide epidemic and aggressively strikes folks of ALL ages. THAT type of information doesn't get noticed if it's watered down! And Parkinson's information won't be making much of a splash is IT'S watered down.
