Hi, > Query. Why did we not hear about this on the list. I posted a >message yesterday which was ignored. Someone in NYC, attached to NYU or part >of a support group, must have known about the upcoming program. Why weren't >we informed. The PDF seemed to have been involved. Why didn't they tell us? >Is there a significant gap in our connections among us, our institutions and >the media? One of the reasons for starting PDNEWS is so there's a channel to get this kind of thing out to a wide audience, quickly, and without being confused in all the other PARKINSN traffic. (you can be on PDNEWS as well as PARKINSN - PDNEWS is just a very focussed announcement list - see http://james.parkinsons.org.uk/pdnews.htm) At the moment I don't tend to carry TV programme announcements because I never find out soon enough, and there's a delay because at the moment I must approve each posting. If there's anyone (preferably from an established organisation, but anyone who's been around for a while is welcome) who does get early information about media events etc, and is willing to post and announcement to PDNEWS, I am happy to given them posting rights so such time-sensitive announcements get out quickly. Volunteers, please email me directly :-) Simon --------- My opinions are my own, NIP's opinions are theirs ---------- Simon J.
