An article in todays Boston Herald said Researches who created controversy by
growing human stem cells asked Congress yesterday to allow federal funding of
such work, saying it might provide a cure for Parkinson's disease within a
few years.
But such breakthrought may never be fully realized if Congress decides current
laws forbid such funding, they added. Stem cells have the potential to become
any kind of cell, from blood cells to skin cells to brain cells. If that
process can be controlled, they might be used for tissue transplants. The
potential benefits of the work are rather aweinspiring, said Sen. Tom Harkin,
(D-Iowa.)

What can we do to help??????????
