AMA ethics group wants physicians to report impaired drivers

HONOLULU, Dec 04 (Reuters Health) - Physicians who know that
their patients are impaired drivers either because of age or
disease have an "...ethical duty to notify the Department of
Motor Vehicles," according to American Medical Association's
Council of Ethical and Judicial Affairs. The ethical arbiters'
report on impaired drivers is 1 of 77 reports from AMA councils
and sections that will be discussed at hearings here Monday
during the House of Delegates interim meeting.
