Friends, (I think that I sent this already but it came back to me so I don't know if it was just a repeat, or my server shut down as I was sending it. It wouldn't have been the first time. We seem to have a lot of internet prolems ever since they moved to a new place). I apologize if it was sent twice, but I would still appreciate any input or answers, suggestions or whatever you might have. I just thought that I would bring you up to date on Dorothy (my mother in law) A few weeks ago I put in some questions about numbing and I only got one response. So I don't know if this is just not common or what. Anyway, I took her to the doctor here and he is having her go into the hospital for an in-out visit to get some tests done. They want to do a sonogram on her neck to check for TIA, which I found stands for transient ischemic attack. The doctor is concerned that it might be prestroke warnings. My mother who is a nurse and works in a nursing home as the assistant director, said that they will run the sonogram on her throat to check the thickness of a certain artery. She is also getting some other tests done on her heart about an hour after these. But I was wondering if any of you have hads these problems and if you can tell me more about this TIA and just exactly what they will be looking for. These tests were supposed to take place Friday but we got snowed in. So she rescheduled for Wednesday. Any info on TIA or numbing would be really helpful. She has had a few numbing attacks that seem to start in her fingers and work all the way up and down her right side. They are really scaring all of us, especially since they might be prestroke. Hopefully we can catch it before it happens. In the meantime the doctor put her on one aspirin a day. All he said was that if they did find something they would have to take care of it, but he wasn't very specific. He knows how easily she scares and didn't want to scare her into anything. But if they did find a blockage or thickness or whatever they are looking for, what would they have to do to take care of it?
