Hi,

In toady's Sunday Times (a UK Sunday Paper), there's a long article on
Christopher Reve and his activities helping other quadriplegics - mainly by
raising awareness and money.

This caught my eye:
>Just as Betty Ford turned her own substance abuse into a campaign for fellow
>drunks and drug-takers, Reeve sees himself as an icon for quadriplegics. He
>believes that Michael J Fox, the actor with Parkinson's disease, could be
>equally effective.

And in an interesting parallel with MJF....:
>There was a time when he pronounced with certainty that he would walk by
>the time he was 50 in 2002. Such comments, Reeve now concedes, were
>designed to "light a fire" and further his campaign. Privately, he is less
>optimistic about timing than in the early days, but he will never countenance
>the prospect of complete failure.

If you want to read the article, you should be able to see it at:

If that doesn't work, go to the front page at
http://www.sunday-times.co.uk/ - you want "The Sunday Times", "News Review"
section.
