Marjorie, pets are not "just a dog" or "just a cat" I prefer cats and
have grieved deeply each time I lost one. They are non judgmental  and
loving companions (these are hard to find) . I am sorry this happened to
you. It is a very painful loss.  I grieved as much before I got into my
dotage  as I do now. Love, Nita
