Very well said, Nita! There are people who have lied and cheated all their lives, then they commit a terrible crime, maybe a murder, possibly a sexual assault, perhaps an armed robbery. Regardless of what politics they practice, they get a trial with a jury of their peers. IF they are found guilty THEN they are punished accordingly. This is the American way, and the way of most democratic countries. Whether one loves or hates President Clinton, it is obvious he is in a no win situation, short of a miracle. This is beyond politics. The way what should have been preserved as evidence was broadcast over radio, TV and the Internet, was nothing short of disgusting. He has been ridiculed by every talk show host and comedian. He has been blasted by magazines and newspapers. Yet, he still keeps on doing his job. Inflation is down, unemployment is down, gasoline is well below a dollar a gallon. People are getting off welfare and going to work. European countries are acquiring US companies as fast as they can, because they are making so much money. If Clinton can accomplish these things while being roasted like a pig in a barbecue pit, imagine if he were just left alone? I wonder how many of his detractors have ever told any lies? Have any of them ever done anything they would not want their spouses, or families or friends to know about? Will any of them go out of their way to save Social Security, or Medicare, if and when Clinton is out of the picture? Will they allow the NIH to have the increased funds it needs to support research for curing Parkinson's or Alzheimer's, or cancer, or AIDS? Nita is trying to help the causes that help PWP's and caregivers. It just so happens that Clinton has accomplished some very important goals that will not have as much importance to anyone who replaces him! Anyone who thinks this is the time to give back any of these gains, is entitled to their opinion, but I would disagree vehemently! [log in to unmask]
