My mother Joyce (69) saw her doctor today and asked how he knew she had
striatonigral degeneration and not PD. He pointed out that she doesn't
react to the drugs the way PWPs do -- the drugs make her better, but it's
not a distinct benefit (she is still rigid and slow and experiencing
tremor, just not as badly as when she's not on). Also, he said that he's
been doing this for 15 years and he could tell by looking at her that she
doesn't have PD -- he's sure of it.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks and I'm wishing for a happy and healthy new
year for all of us.
